Gustavo Guerrero

Gustavo Adolfo Guerrero Moradel is a Honduran-American folk artist, songwriter, producer, and poet based in New England. With a rich bilingual approach and deep-rooted storytelling, Gustavo explores themes of identity, belonging, and the immigrant experience through a blend of Latin American rhythms and Americana folk. A proud member of the Recording Academy, he brings authenticity, lyrical nuance, and emotional depth to every performance.

He has shared his artistry across the U.S. at colleges and universities including Champlain College (VT), Chadron State College (NE), Chattanooga State Community College (TN), University of Tennessee, Southwest Tennessee Community College (Memphis, TN), The College of Wooster (OH), Jackson State Community College (TN), Governors State University (IL), University of Montevallo (AL), University of Memphis (TN), and Caldwell University (NJ).

His profile extends into major public and civic platforms: Musicians Corner in Nashville, events organized by the Clinton Foundation, and performances for the Democratic National Committee in Washington, D.C. Gustavo has appeared at landmark music venues including The Ryman Auditorium, The Caverns, and The Bluebird Cafe, and was featured on the PBS special Ear to the Common Ground, where he performed and engaged in conversation about race in America.

Collaborating across cultures and genres, Gustavo has co-written and performed with artists such as Alex Blue, Karina Daza, Gaby Moreno, Raúl Oyarce, Marta Albarracín, Jonathan Judkin, and Pete Finney. His poetry—including a décima about Honduras—was featured in the anthology Iberoamérica en Décimas, curated by the Secretaría General Iberoamericana in Madrid, Spain, alongside contributions from voices like Jorge Drexler.

One of his most widely recognized collaborations is with Alex Blue (formerly known as Alex G). Their bilingual cover of “Imagine / Younger Now” has surpassed 9.3 million views on YouTube and achieved over 2.6 million streams on Spotify, making it one of Gustavo’s most impactful artistic moments. Another notable cover, Only Hope, has reached 208,000+ views on YouTube, and collectively, these and other covers have garnered 500,000+ combined views and streams across digital platforms.
